Dr. Rowell's diverse background includes research on autism, ADHD and student retention, wherein she was awarded funding from H&H Publishing and the University of Texas Austin. She has conducted seminars and workshops on crisis intervention, educational technologies, and personnel training and leadership at local and state levels. Dr. Rowell has provided individual counseling and conducted psychological and academic evaluations in educational institutions and Harris County Forensics.

 

Before returning to Houston, she taught university education courses and worked as an Admissions Counselor at Texas A&M University. She also served as a Career Counselor at the Arthur Anderson Career Center. Her industrial organizational development experience began with projects for the City of College Station, Bush School of Government, and the San Antonio School District. She continued her business psychology work at Accenture developing personnel training platforms.

 

As a Counseling Department Chair and LPC Supervisor, she trained and led counselors and advisors at Houston Community College's Distance Learning Department. Dr. Rowell also taught Introductory Psychology and served as a substitute for Applied Statistics and Abnormal Psychology. She received the Chancellor's highest executive leadership award among the institution's seven colleges.

 

Dr. Rowell's consulting work included an expansion of a California-based grocery chain's beverage division into Texas. While balancing the role of a widowed mother, she transitioned into part-time consulting, served on public school boards, volunteered for grief and trauma recovery, and substitute taught at Houston private schools. She fundraises for local schools and communities, pediatric cancer, and Big Brother and Big Sisters of America.

 

An avid athlete, Dr. Rowell grew up playing junior tennis, was a member of Baylor University's women's rugby team, achieved national ranking in padel, and currently plays pickleball.
